About Sports Injuries
One of the most frustrating things in life is when pain stops you doing the things you love. Because of that, Sporting Injuries can sometimes be the hardest thing to deal with. Don’t get me wrong, the injuries themselves are usually pretty straightforward, most of the time it’s a strain or a sprain that needs a bit of gentle mobilisation, then rest, with a managed return to activity. The tricky bit is always persuading the Sports person to rest for long enough to let the injury heal!
At the Courtyard Clinic we have experience treating injuries from many different sporting activities. We’ve treated Runners, Walkers, Gymnasts, Footballers (standard and walking), Horseriders, Rugby Players, Cyclists, Cricketers, Netballers, Basketballers, Climbers, Cheerleaders, Sailers, Rowers, Hockey Players, Bowlers (Lawn and 10-pin), Golfers, Dog-agility-triallers, Swimmers, Badminton/Tennis/Squash/Padel and Table Tennis players, Skiers, Skaters, Ice-Hockey players, Clay-shooters, even a neck injury from a long game of Snooker, a strained elbow from a Darts Match, and a mud-racer who twisted her knee! (we are in Maldon after all). Those are the patients with Sporting Injuries that we’ve helped that come straight to mind and I’m sure there are several more besides.
