About Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic Ultrasound is a technique commonly used in physical therapy and rehabilitation to promote healing and alleviate pain. It works by using sound waves that are above the frequency of human hearing, typically in the range of 1 to 3 megahertz (MHz). When the ultrasound machine is activated, it emits these sound waves, which penetrate the skin and underlying tissues.

As the sound waves travel through the tissues, they cause vibrations that generate thermal effects (increased heat) and non-thermal effects (cellular and molecular responses). The thermal effects can help to increase blood flow, relax muscles, and reduce stiffness in tissues, promoting healing. The non-thermal effects can stimulate cellular activity, enhance tissue regeneration, and reduce inflammation.

Therapeutic ultrasound is a valuable tool that aids in reducing pain, improving mobility, and aiding the repair of damaged tissues
