Avoid Present Wrapping Injuries!
We see lots of seasonal injuries this time of year, but one of the most common is back pain from wrapping presents.
Wrapping presents tends to involve sitting for long periods of time. We regularly get patients that have felt the first strain of discomfort standing up from sitting after they’ve finished. One way of avoiding injury is to make sure you get up and move around frequently while you’re doing the job. But another tip we’ve found, as demonstrated by the lady in the video below, is to use an ironing board.
The great thing about using an ironing board is that it’s adjustable in height, so you can sit for a while with it set at a low height, then raise it and stand to wrap if you start to feel uncomfortable. Standing and wrapping means that you can move around and get to the present from every angle, without bending or twisting awkwardly.
Hopefully this tip helps you get your wrapping done in super-quick time, without the hint of a twinge or discomfort in your back!
Happy Christmas!
